PCIT

Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is an evidence-based therapy that focuses on improving the relationship between parents and their children. PCIT is designed to help parents learn new skills to manage their child's behavior while strengthening their relationship with their child. During therapy sessions, parents are coached by a therapist who observes interactions between parent and child and provides live feedback. PCIT has been shown to be effective in reducing behavior problems in children while improving parent-child interactions and relationships.

“They don't give you a manual when you become a parent but PCIT is pretty darn close. We all assume that we know how to communicate with our children, but PCIT taught me how to communicate effectively and set appropriate boundaries. The hardest moments gave us the most rewarding breakthroughs and, ultimately,, peace in our house. I cannot think of something more worthwhile if you are struggling.”
